of these once pristine forests.

Orangutans Saved in Borneo: Two orangutans, a mother and her baby, have been rescued in Borneo moments before they were about to be slaughtered by bounty hunters. Orangutans are threatened on a daily basis due to the deforestation of their habitat. Forests are destroyed to clear space for palm oil plantations and plantation owners may pay a bounty to kill orangutans encroaching on their land.
